Linwood Barclay
Linwood Barclay was born in the United States but grew up in Canada. His father was a commercial artist. Linwood Barclay gained a B.A. Hons in English at Trent University, in Ontario and started his career in journalism at the Peterborough Examiner in Ontario. In 1981, he joined the Toronto Star, where he moved up the ladder from assistant city editor to be appointed the paper's humour columnist in 1993. In 2008, Linwood Barclay left The Toronto Star to focus on his book writing.
Up and until then Barclay had written non-fiction and fiction, including his mystery series revolving around the character Zack Walker, but it was No Time for Goodbye, which represented a significant breakthrough for Barclay as an author gaining commercial and critical success.
