
Margaret Simons
Margaret Simons began her career as a journalist on the Melbourne Age in 1982. Between 1987 and 1989 she covered the Queensland Fitzgerald Inquiry for the Age and Sydney Morning Herald, before being seconded to Mr Fitzgerald’s staff as a consultant to assist in the writing of the final report. She has won a Walkely commendation for investigative reporting and won the Queensland Premier's Literary Prize, as well as being shortlisted for the NSW Premier's Award. She has published two novels and a collection of her nature/gardening columns for the Australian.
