Robert Ryan

Robert Ryan’s WWII novels are popular the world over and are based on real incidents and actual people. The Blue Noon, Night Crossing and Early One Morning have sold more than 30 000 copies in Australia alone. After Midnight will be published in April 2005.

Robert lectured in natural sciences for several years before moving into journalism in the mid-1980s, working firstly on The Face and then Arena. During this time, he also wrote for The Daily Telegraph, US GQ, US Conde Nast Traveler, Esquire and The Sunday Times. He eventually became Deputy Travel Editor of the latter, and after seven years in this role left to help launch the UK edition of Conde Nast Traveller, moving on when Headline bought his first novel. He still contributes to The Sunday Times and is Writer at Large for GQ. Robert Ryan lives in North London with his wife and three children.
